LIBERIA: HIV/AIDS Prevention Must Be Taken Seriously – NACP Boss Stresses
The Analyst reported 8 December that The Programme Manager of the National Aids Control programme NACP, Fr. Benjamin Vonhm says the provision of quality treatment to people living with HIV/AIDS is significant to improving their living condition. Dr. Vonhm said the NACP, which is the government arm responsible for responding to the HIV/AIDS epidemic in Liberia, is collaborating with its international partners to ensure that much needed attention is given to people infected by the virus. He noted that the NACP was pleased with the level of support coming from various United Nations agencies in the country. Yemen: Discrimination against woman
Saba Agency and 14 October Newspaper reported on December 8 that the Deputy Minister of Planning and International Cooperation, Mr. Hisham Sharaf, confirmed Yemen’s commitment and respect of the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW) and all-international charters and conventions Yemen signed and ratified. This came in his remark at the opening of a planning workshop to combat violence against women in Yemen which was organized by the Women’s National Committee in collaboration with UNFPA and (GTZ).
