CONGO (BRAZZAVILLE): UNFPA Calls for Civic Engagement for Social Change

Congo-site reported on 11 June on a meeting between Youth and Civic Education Minister, M. Zacharie Kimpouni, and UNFPA Representative David Lawson. Mr. Lawson said, "The change of mentality called upon by President Denis Sassou Nguesso to change society is necessary to bring about the behavioural and social change that will help support gender equality, reduce the risks of early pregnancy, HIV/AIDS and gender-based discrimination and violence. It is in this context that I will cooperate closely with Minister Kimpouni." Read in French: Congo-Site
