PARAGUAY: Looking For Strengths in Knowledge and Tools For Territorial Development

Ñanduti reported on 4 April on a workshop on skills and standards in Parguay’s government and municipal institutions for the preparation of Development Plans and Land Management with a population approach. The effort was implemented through an agreement between the UNFPA office in Paraguay and the German Technical Cooperation (GIZ) in order to adapt and apply that methodology designed and implemented by the UNFPA country office in Colombia and the External University of Colombia with support from AECID. Read in Spanish: Radio Ñanduti

BURKINA FASO: UNFPA Donates Medical and Technical Equipment to Ministry of Health

Sidwaya, L’Observateur Paalga and Le Quotidien reported on 4 April on the ceremony marking UNFPA’s delivery of medical and technical equipment to the Ministry of Health. UNFPA Representative Mamadou Kanté said, "I wish, that this equipment which you go to receive just is used in a efficient way to the advantage of the populations.” The Minister thanked UNFPA for its support and assured that this material and equipment will be used to fight maternal and neonatal deaths in the regions. The equipment was passed on to the Family Health Directorate for further dispatch at the regional level.
