FIJI: Promote the Idea of Family Planning

The Fiji Times on 17 November reported the United Nations Population Fund Pacific Sub-Regional Office Assistant Representative Virisila Raitamata was encouraging a return to the original idea of planning for life and family, considering the impact of how contraceptives were being marketed now. Mrs Raitamata said UNFPA in the Pacific was seeking alliances with stakeholders that promoted skills building for resourceful livelihoods including parliamentarians, NGOs, traditional chiefs and leaders, faith-based organisations, community groups and other sector programs.
