PARAGUAY: UN Calls for Investment in Afro Youth

ABC Colour reported on 18 November that the strengthening of affirmative action policies aimed at young people of afro descendent is the way to overcome the inequalities, discrimination and exclusion suffered by this community in Latin America, according to a study released today by the UN. "One of the challenges for this ethnic policy is to overcome the absence of reliable statistics on this population group," said UNFPA Director for Latin America and the Caribbean, Marcela Suazo, at the African American Meeting XXI, framed in the International Year of African Descent.
