LATIN AMERICA & THE CARRIBBEAN – Report on Sexual Violence Launched

Inter Press Service, CERIGUA, Radio Fórmula, Prensa Libre and Reportaje De reported on 31 May and 1 June on the launch of a new report entitled Access to Justice for Victims of Sexual Violence in Mesoamerica by the Interamerican Commission on Human Rights. UNFPA provided financial and technical support.   The meeting was opened by Marcela Suazo, LAC Regional Director, Tracy Robinson, Rapporteur on Women´s Rights for the Interamerican Commission on Human Rights and Thelma Aldana, President of the Supreme Court of Justice in Guatemala.

The event had close to 100 participants, representing 17 countries, from the justice sector, national institutes of women, and civil society.
