JORDAN: Next International Arab Youth Congress
Alghad and Addustour reported on 2 July that a press conference was held to declare that the 32nd International Arab Youth Congress, organized by the King Hussein Foundation’s National Center for Culture and Arts (NCCA), is scheduled to start next week. The theme of this year’s congress is “New Media and Development,” with discussions covering social media, freedom of speech and ethics in new media.
This year, the seven-day congress will be held on the occasion of the silver jubilee of the NCCA and the bicentennial anniversary of the rediscovery of Petra by Swiss explorer Johann Burckhardt, and will be supported by the United Nations Population Fund in Jordan (UNFPA).
Ms. Muna Idris, UNFPA assistant representative, said that UNFPA recognizes the importance of communicating with young people. UNFPA is aware of how important it is to tackle the youth’s issues and concerns which will, as a result, affect the whole society. Read in Arabic: Addustour
