KYRGYZSTAN: Marital Rape Rarely Reported or Prosecuted

Euroasianet.org reported on 1 November that women in Kyrgyzstan rarely report marital rape and if it is reported, few men are charged. A UNFPA study revealing that one in four women suffered domestic violence at home was cited. The same UNFPA study found 70 percent of women convicted of murdering their husbands or other family members were victims of domestic abuse.  Read in Russian: Euroasianet.org
