GEORGIA: UNFPA/Georgia Celebrates 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence
Inter Press News, Georgian Public Broadcaster, Iverioni News Agency and various other media outlets reported on 25 November on UNFPA/Georgia launching the "16 Days of Activism Against Gender-based Violence," a women’s rights campaign observed annually on 25 November to 10 December. Throughout the campaign, UNFPA/Georgia will conduct a series of activities, including TV and radio talk shows on women’s rights, movie screenings, youth discussions, media roundtables etc. 16 Days of Activism against Gender-based Violence 2012 is held within the framework of the “UN Joint Programme on Enhancing Gender Equality,” generously supported by the Swedish Agency for Development and Cooperation and simultaneously implemented by three UN agencies – UNFPA, UN Women and UNDP.
