ARMENIA: Population Ageing

Mednews.kz on 9 December reported on Armenia’s declining birthrate which was discussed at a meeting with Vanik Babajanyan, the chief of the Department of Demography, Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs of Armenia. UNFPA Representative Garik Hayrapetyan said that the number of ageing people in Armenia affects the demographic situation and the government needs to invest more in health and social welfare.
