MOLDOVA: Teen Pregnancy High

pan.md on 11 January reported that a lack of awareness about contraception and life skills education, domestic violence and sexual harassment are among the reasons for the high level of teenage pregnancy in Moldova. According to the United Nations Population Fund, Moldova is in fifth place among the CIS countries (after Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia ) in the number of people using modern methods of contraception.
