BELARUS: Country Ranks 12th On Mortality

News.tut.by on 21 January reported that, according to the CIA report, Belarus ranks 12th on mortality. UNFPA programme coodinator Tatiana Gaplichnik is quoted in the piece saying, “During the period from 2006 to 2011, the average mortality in Belarus is 14.1 per 1000 population...it is important to note that both Belarus and most European countries characterized the depopulation by low birth rates and relatively high mortality.” Read in Russian: News.tut.by
