UGANDA: African Union Summit Discusses Maternal Health

The New Vision on 29 January published an article on the African Union summit held in Addis. UNFPA Assistant Representative Dr. Wilfred Ochan is quoted saying, "Since the launch of CARMMA [Campaign for Accelerated Reduction of Maternal Mortality in Africa], progress has been made towards improving maternal health." He also highlighted the need for further investment in family planning and increasing access to obstetric care.
