BOLIVIA: Maternal Health Improving

Multiple media outlets on 22 April reported that the traditions of indigenous midwives remains in rural Andean Bolivia while in the east pregnant woman are seeking occidental medical care. William Michel, UNFPA's consultant in sexual and reproductive health and maternal health, said that in recent years health care to pregnant women in Bolivia increased from 60% to 70%.
