NEPAL: Working to Prevent Gender-based Violence

Republica on 20 September published an article on gender-based violence in Nepal. "According to a UNFPA report, “Situational Analysis of Gender-Based Violence in Surkhet and Dang Districts, Nepal,” lack of reconciliation and weak laws encourage all forms of violence to persist within these communities. And so has been the case all around Nepal." The piece featured an interview with Dr. Emma Fulu, a Research Specialist with Partners for Prevention, a joint program of UNDP, UNFPA, UN Women and UNV.

Please find attached the PDF version of the article published on Republica on GBV along with Dr. Fulu's interview. Also, this is the link to the article on our website: http://theweek.myrepublica.com/details.php?news_id=61752

This was published last Friday, September 20, 2013.

Thank you again Dr. Fulu for taking out the time to answer the questions.
