JORDAN: UNFPA Calls for More Attention to Senior Citizens

The Jordan Times published on 30 September an article on the occasion of the International Day for Elderly, which will be celebrated this year under the theme “Older People...a New Power for Development.” The article talked about the UNFPA Jordan office's work and perspective regarding older persons, and quoted UNFPA Assistant Representative Muna Idris in emphasizing the importance of giving more attention to this age group, especially that the demographic transition will lead to an increase in the percentage of elderly in our society, which requires the availability of programmes and services for senior citizens.
