SOLOMON ISLANDS: Third Midwifery Conference Opened
Solomon Star reported on 12 October that the third Solomon Islands National Midwifery Conference was successfully opened in Honiara. Attended by more than 100 people, the meeting was aimed at strengthening efforts to improve maternal and child health in the country. Opening the conference, Under-Secretary Cedric Alependava congratulated the joint efforts of the Reproductive Health Division and the National Referral Hospital for the initiative, and thanked UNFPA for funding the conference and for the ongoing technical support it provides to maternal health service.
