LIBERIA: PPAL and Partners Launch Contraceptives for Market

The Inquirer reported on 2 November that Planned Parenthood Association of Liberia (PPAL), formerly Family Planning Association of Liberia (FPAL), in collaboration with UNFPA, USAID and the Ministry of Health and Social Welfare, officially launched the contraceptive for market project at the Jorkpen's Town Market in Monrovia. According to a release, the project is intended to involve the marketers, both male and female, to provide family planning contraceptives and sexual and reproductive health information in the various markets in order to reduce the maternal and infant mortality rate, which stands at 994/100,000 live births, and prevent unwanted pregnancy.
