The New York Times reported on 7 March that across the world, millions of mothers have made this sacrifice for their children — forgoing a life with them in hope of ensuring a better life for them. ''It is one of the biggest untold stories of this century,'' said Purnima Mane, deputy executive director of UNFPA.
