The Pioneer continued reporting on March 30 on the recent UNFPA-supported Survey on Ageing conducted by the National Statistical Service of Armenia, the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs, and the National Institute of Labour and Social Research. One fourth of the population of the country is over the age of 50. Only 36.5 per cent of Armenians of that age group has a job. In the opinion of the interviewed men and women of the age group, the most important factor for starting one’s own business is connections and acquaintances (29.2 per cent and 44.8 per cent respectively).
