ECUADOR: UNFPA and Provincial Government to Cooperate on Preventing Teen Pregnancies

La hora reported on 20 April that 20 per cent of births in Ecuador are unplanned births to adolescents. To address this issue, UNFPA and the Provincial Health Directorate of Esmeraldas signed a cooperation agreement to work in the areas of teen pregnancy prevention and to improve maternal health by strengthening the training of providers on the management of obstetric emergencies.
