TURKMENISTAN: President Berdimuhammedov Supports UNFPA-Proposed Projects

Neutral Turkmenistan and State News Agency reported that on 19 April during the Cabinet of Ministers meeting, G. Mezilov, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan, reported on projects proposed by UNFPA to the Academy of Civil Servants under the President of Turkmenistan, which are included into the Annual Work Plan for 2011, and their implementation in line with the plan. Commenting on the report, the Head of State stressed the importance of deployed wide-scale reforms in the areas of science, education and health, training of qualified professionals in all areas and industries on the basis of the best international practice and based on spiritual values ​​and rich cultural heritage of the Turkmen people. The Turkmen leader also noted that the implementation of joint projects proposed by UNFPA to the Academy of Civil Servants under the President of Turkmenistan will serve further development of fruitful cooperation with the United Nations and its leading actors, and therefore gave specific instructions to the pertinent supervisors.
