CONGO (BRAZZAVILLE): Congolese Youth: Between Wonders And Responsibility

Multiple media outlets reported on 14 July on a debate organized by UNFPA and the Youth Ministry on "Challenges and Opportunities of the Congolese Youth." The Youth Minister Chief of Staff, Philippe Kimbémbé Tiangana and UNFPA Representative David Lawson entertained discussions with youth on a broad range of issues. Mr. Lawson said, "UNFPA Executive Director Babatunde Osotimehin outlined at the recent African Union Summit that youth is the ‘engine of future economic growth.’ We must therefore invest in young people's education and health now to ensure the future of an aging world. Youth must also empower themselves and take responsibilities to prepare the world it should be dreaming of." Read in French: Les Depeches de Brazzaville and Congo-Site
