LIBERIA: Girls Demand Empowerment, Want Government, Partners Take More Actions
The Daily Observer reported on 22 October that girls in Liberia have called on the government and partners to eliminate all barriers that prevent them from advancing. The call was contained in a “manifesto” released by a group of adolescent girls at the end of a one-day consultative forum on ending child marriage. The forum brought together stakeholders from government and civil society organizations and was supported by the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) as part of the observance of the International Day of the Girl Child.
