ETHIOPIA: Host Country Has Made Strides in Family Planning

Addis Fortune on 3 February reported that Addis Abeba is hosting the International Conference on Family Planning in November. Ethiopia was picked to host the conference due to its achievements in increasing the number of family planning service beneficiaries and successful health extension activities. According to a study by UNFPA, Ethiopia has made commendable progress in its family planning program through the use of contraceptives. Use of contraceptives has grown from 35.8 percent to 52.5 percent in the last ten years.
