BURKINA FASO: Discussing Global Efforts to Eliminate FGM

Sidwaya reported on 11 March that the First Lady of Burkina Faso and coordinator of the international campaign on the prohibition of female genital mutilation, Chantal Compaoré, were the guests of honour of an event set up in New York by the Permanent missions of Burkina Faso and Italy to the United Nations, organised together with UNFPA, UNICEF and the Organisation internationale de la Francophonie. One of the goals of this meeting, according to the newspaper, was to discuss the next steps of the resolution,  "Global efforts to eliminate female genital mutilation." Read in French: Sidwaya
