PHILIPPINES: Training Programmes Held for Victims of GBV

Philippines News Agency on 28 March reported that cases of child abuse in Camarines Norte province last year increased significantly compared to its number in 2011 even as reported incidents of violence against women noticeably went down. The Camarines Norte provincial government is providing women victims with livelihood training so that they are liberated from being totally dependent on their husbands. The province has also included Gender and Development (GAD) in its programmes supported by the United Nations Population Fund. These programmes include orientations on the Magna Carta of Women provisions on Reproductive Rights and Gender-Based Violence for the GAD Focal Point System.
